Who doesn’t love a good charcuterie board?\u00a0 It is a special treat at our house to load a board with goodies, snuggle up in front of the television, and watch a movie together.\u00a0 My kids can’t say charcuterie, so we call them “snack plates.”\u00a0 It does not matter what I put on the snack plate.\u00a0 Sometimes I put hummus, veggies, and pita bread on the board and watch it disappear.<\/p>\n

Cheese, meats, and berries have little to no sugar content, which make them less “cariogenic” than other foods like breads, cakes, and gummy snacks.\u00a0 Cariogenic is the fancy word meaning “cavity creating.”<\/strong>\u00a0 If you notice in the picture, I do have crackers and bread options, because you can’t cut out everything delicious.\u00a0 It is important to eat our favorite foods in moderation, and when we do indulge, brush and floss before bedtime.<\/p>\n

In my household, I am the person who typically handles getting dinner ready as well as the cleanup.\u00a0 I feel compelled to confess that sometimes I get tired.\u00a0 One benefit of a snack plate supper is there are minimal dishes to wash, so it is easier for me at the end of the night.\u00a0 When my kids find out it is a snack plate supper, they know they are in charge of laying down the blankets and setting the scene for our dinner in front of the T.V.<\/p>\n

Another benefit to a snack plate supper is you can use up things in your fridge and pantry.\u00a0 My kids love trying different combinations, so there is no recipe when it comes to these dinners.\u00a0 Just put things on the board that your kids love and watch them go to town.\u00a0 Although there is no recipe, if you are curious, I have listed the items I used on this snack plate as well as added a few pictures of other snack boards from weeks past.<\/p>\n
